ABOUT ME

My name is Denny Hodge but people call me The Mad One. I've been called variations of MAD since my days as an active duty Marine in the early 90's.

The name came from my temper, the crazy things I did, and my skills on the basketball court and from my art. The temper and hot-headedness cost me a lot of opportunities and landed me in trouble more times than I can count.

Along with the temper, I have always suffered from severe depression, fear, and anxiety from a very early age. Writing and Art became my outlet to overcome these afflictions and evolve into who I am today.

​

That evolution took a huge leap forward when I found myself lost 27+ miles into my first ultra marathon. The sound of nature and that experience transcended all the pain and suffering of my life and showed me that there was a way to elevate and evolve to who I want to be.

That journey continues everyday.
